The Weekend Uniform

There's nothing I love more than when casual, comfortable basics are paired with the right accessories and result in a effortlessly chic ensemble.  I shot this look the day after New Years Eve and let's just say that I was hurting and definitely not feeling like I looked great, so I opted for these high waisted bell bottom jeans by Citizen's for Humanity, there is something amazing about high waisted jeans that instantly makes you feel thinner.

These jeans have been great for the holiday season, especially with all of the cheese and wine that I've been consuming, but also because they can be dressed up to go out, I've paired them with heeled booties and a turtleneck crop top, or dressed down like you see here.  I also have a similar pair of black high waisted bell bottom jeans that I've been wearing just as consistently.  Although it is mildly painful to break out bell bottoms, a style that I have absolutely loathed since they were all the rage back in my middle school Abercrombie obsessed days, everything always comes back and I think classic high waisted silhouettes like these will always be in style.  The 70's bell bottom trend will definitely continue into the spring and summer so if you're thinking about grabbing a pair of your own I strongly suggest you opt for high waisted, they're so much more flattering and versatile.  See below for some of my suggestions!

P.S. this shirt, sweater, and clutch are all on sale now!!

Aritzia has the best basic pieces hands down, and this t-shirt and sweater are no exception.  I wear this white t-shirt with everything because it's the perfect fit, loose while not being too baggy and it tucks in flawlessly.
